Visiting Lecturers/Research Scholars

The Fulbright Visiting Lecturer/Research Scholar Program sends over 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. Under a cooperative agreement with the Bureau, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) assists in the administration of the Fulbright Scholar Program for faculty and professionals.

The American Visiting Lecturer/Research Scholar Program is designed for American postdoctoral scholars wishing to lecture and/or conduct advanced research in Sweden. The grant provides grantees with a monthly maintenance allowance and round-trip travel from the U.S. For information, interested scholars should contact the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES). 

Awards offered at the postdoctoral level in Sweden during the 2018-19 academic year include:

   Post-doctoral awards (in all disciplines)
   Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Alternative Energy Technology
   Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Studies
   Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Public International Law
   Fulbright Schuman Innovation Award
   Fulbright-Schuman European Union Affairs Program
   Fulbright Global Scholar Award

Letter of affliliation: all students and researchers from the U.S. are required to have an affiliation in Sweden.
