Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or the equivalent before the beginning date of the grant and may not hold a doctoral degree at the time of the application.
The final selection for U.S. student program is made by the Fulbright Commission Selection Committee. Applications are evaluated according to evaluation criteria set by the Fulbright Commission.
Letter of affiliation: Student researchers from the U.S. are required to provide a letter of affiliation in their Fulbright application, while students proposing graduate degree enrollment will need to provide a letter of admission/acceptance prior to the start of their Fulbright grant. Candidates are responsible for securing affiliation with a Swedish institution of higher education, research institution, or other acceptable organization. While affiliations should be academic, they may include museums, cultural organizations and think tanks. Please contact the Commission directly in case of uncertainty.
