Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program
For American postdoctoral scholars wishing to lecture and/or conduct advanced research in Sweden
Applications for this program are administered through the Institute of International Education (IIE) with a deadline of September 16, 2024. Please see the Catalogue of Awards for a listing of awards available to U.S. citizens at this level (including Distinguished Scholars) to Sweden.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of the application. Preference is given to applicants who have not resided or studied in Sweden for more than six months in the past three years.
Letter of affiliation: all researchers from the U.S. are required to have an affiliation in Sweden. While affiliations should be academic, they may include museums, cultural organizations, think tanks, etc. Please contact the Commission directly in case of uncertainty. Requirements
American citizenship
Established affiliation with a Swedish university or research center
Candidates currently residing in Sweden or who have already begun a program in Sweden are not eligible for the Fulbright program in Sweden
The online application for the following year is available from the first week of February through September
